DEVONPORT PARK, DEVONPORT, PLYMOUTH, WORLD WAR II PUBLIC UNDERGROUND AIR RAID SHELTER

This is one of five known to exist in this park, can anyone make out the transferred ink of an old poster by the "P" of "PERSONNEL?" See my earlier web pages on my main Cyberheritage page to see how such air raid shelters worked etc.

The video of the shelter is here: the pick axe is of interest as they were issued to underground shelters in case a near miss bomb entombed the occupants - they could dig themselves out. Also found was a periwinkle shell - a valuable source of protein to those on wartime rations - such remains of locally harvested sea foods are sometimes found in air raid shelters.
